Ellen wins with AIRX 17/06/2000
Last November Ellen won her class in the Route Rhum using a full inventory of Bainbridge Sailcloth including SCL Spectra Laminate mainsail and jib and an AIRX spinnaker. For her new Open 60, Kingfisher, Ellen again chose AIRX Spinnaker Fabrics as well as Tylaska snapshackles and Titan winch handles, both distributed by Bainbridge International in th UK.

Congratulations to Ellen MacArthur, the 23 year old single handed sailor from Derbyshire, England,who has won the Europe 1 Star. Reckoned to be one of the toughest singlehanded yacht races, entrants sail non-stop for 14 days from Plymouth, England to Newport, USA. Ellen's victory in the monohull class with her Open 60 'Kingfisher'must be one of the most oustanding achievments in modern sailing.
